Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the tray
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line a baking tray with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
- Arrange the saltine crackers side by side in a single layer.
Step 2: Make the caramel
- Add butter and brown sugar to a saucepan.
- Heat over medium heat while stirring continuously.
- Once melted, let it boil for 3–4 minutes until thick and bubbly.
- Stir in vanilla extract.
Step 3: Add caramel layer
- Carefully pour the hot caramel over the crackers.
- Spread evenly using a spatula.

- The caramel should appear bubbly.
Step 5: Add chocolate
- Remove from the oven.
- Sprinkle chocolate chips over the hot caramel.
- Let sit for 2 minutes so the chocolate melts.
- Spread the melted chocolate evenly.
Step 6: Add toppings
- Sprinkle chopped nuts and a light pinch of sea salt if desired.
- Refrigerate for 1–2 hours until firm.
