Tithi Basu's father is a politician

In the 2011 West Bengal Assembly elections, Bratya Basu defeated CPI(M) Minister Gautam Deb in the Dum Dum (Vidhan Sabha constituency) on a Trinamool Congress ticket. He now serves in Mamata Banerjee's government as Minister of Higher Education.


To get to the bottom of things, he decided to conduct a survey of the state's higher education landscape. After Trinamool Congress's resounding victory in the 2021 Assembly Election, Basu was reappointed as the ministry's Education Minister.
