Maharana Pratap's Height - How Tall Was He?

Maharana Pratap was born to Udai Singh II of Mewar and Jaiwanta Bai in 1540 and was married to Ajabde Punwar of Bijolia. He was a futile victory for the Mughals and  led a sustained campaign against the Rana in September 1576.

After fleeing to the Chappan region, Maharana Pratap launched an attack on the Mughal capital. Western Mewar, including Dewar, Amet, Madariya, Zawar, and the fort of Kumbalgarh, were all effectively conquered by him by 1583.

Maharana Pratap Stepsisters

Maharana Pratap had two stepsisters: Chand Kanwar and Man Kanwar. Chand Kanwar was the daughter of Raja Raimal of Mewar, while Man Kanwar was the daughter of Raja Uday Singh of Marwar.

Despite being stepsisters, the bond between Maharana Pratap and his sisters was unbreakable. They grew up together in the royal palace, sharing not only their bloodline but also their dreams and aspirations.

Maharana Pratap Military career

Pratap's grandfather Rana Sanga was defeated by the Mughals in the Battle of Khanwa in 1527, and his father Udai Singh II was defeated by the Mughals in the Siege of Chittorgarh in 1568.

This was in stark contrast to other Rajput rulers who accommodated and formed alliances with the various Muslim dynasties in the subcontinent.

Pratap Singh became famous for his opposition to the Mughal Empire and the Islamic rule it represented. Pratap Singh and Akbar's rivalry resulted in the decisive Battle of Haldighati.

How did Maharana Pratap Died?

At Chavand, on 19 January 1597, Maharana Pratap took his last breathe, at the age of 56. His eldest son, Amar Singh I, took over after him. Pratap begged his son not to give in to the Mughals and to retake Chittor.
