Gina Sasso is the ex-wife of Thomas Mikal Ford who was an American actor and comedian. From 1999 until 2001, he starred as Mel Parker in The Parkers on UPN. For the final season of the show, he also played Lieutenant Malcolm Barker on New York Undercover.

He was born in Los Angeles and raised in Long Beach, California. His mother was a school secretary and his father was a pipefitter. Ford wanted to become a preacher when he was a child. In high school, he took drama lessons and started acting in plays. He earned his Associate of Arts degree from Long Beach City College in 1985 and then transferred to USC, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.
